Here we feature some of the favourites in the Garden, plants that have a special significance or properties that make them stand out in the community.
We begin with a plant whose appearance from nowhere in 2004, the first year, started a continuing interest in plants that arrived in the Garden by their own devices – not planted, not sown, but helped in by birds, mammals or (without knowing it) human visitors!
- cotton thistle Onopordum acanthium
- marsh marigold Caltha palustris
- bee plants
In prep: yellow flag iris, corncockle, marsh mallow.
